Green Storm

Urban regeneration process

The park of King Ladislao is a historical garden of 4,500 square meters hidden in the heart of the historic center of Naples. Despite being one of the very few green areas in this area of the city, the park is a little frequented and unknown to most of the neighborhood’s inhabitants.

Verde Bufera (Green Storm) is a participatory process of urban reactivation carried out by ReGeneration, a project carried out by Dedalus and ZAP! which aims to foster meeting and cultural cross-fertilization between teenagers and young people of different cultures and backgrounds through the rediscovery of places to spend their time of life and fun well.

Over the course of a year, the girls and boys of the Porta Capuana neighborhood studied a project to reactivate King Ladislao’s garden, drawing community maps and botanical maps, creating a botanical path that described the plant species to the inhabitants of the neighborhood and planning an event for the collective re-appropriation of the green space, taking care of its artistic direction, creation and communication.

During the urban regeneration process, the ReGeneration team designed and built a small garden within the park. Go here to see their work!
